China is on the cutting edge of digitization of our personal life, smartphone became the hub for communication, entertainment payment and shopping. It is easier in China to spot a new unicorn than a person with traditional feature phone.

There are reasons on both shipper and carrier side resulting from decades long status quo of transportation industry used to highly manual and reactive ways. Shipment data shared with carriers by shippers offline is often incomplete, inaccurate and late for online process to work. Many carriers are reluctant to embrace new process using driver technology illiteracy as key excuse. That’s understandable since they often can’t control or even know last mile driver who is separated from them by layers of sub-contracting. They may fear subcontractor failures will be exposed directly instead of focusing on how to use this tool to improve their control over vendors and service to customers.
