oTMS, a leader in cloud transport management platform in China, today announced that Gartner, Inc., the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, has listed oTMS in Notable Mentions in its 2018 Magic Quadrant for Transportation Management Systems* report out of 9. oTMS is the only Asia-based company covered in Notable Mentions.

“It’s a great honor and recognition for oTMS to be listed in Gartner Magic Quadrant Report for TMS. Compared with 2017, oTMS increases its customer base and product width such as TMS based managed service and bid platform Freight Partner.” said David Duan, oTMS, President and co-founder.

According to Gartner, “Controlling transportation costs, creating internal efficiencies, increasing visibility and securing transport capacity are currently the top motivators for investing in a TMS. Supply chain leaders should use this research to evaluate the TMS marketplace.”

The other important trend in Gartner report is “Cloud has become the dominant delivery mechanism for TMS solutions. Almost all growth in the TMS space comes from cloud TMS offerings. Gartner notices far less new investment in on-premises applications. The number of TMS end-user companies that has started transitioning their TMS solutions from on-premises to the cloud also continues to grow, either through switching vendors or switching platforms within the same vendor.”

“Gartner continues to see the TMS market grow at an accelerated rate. Factors such as the need to reduce costs; improve internal productivity, efficiency and customer service; increase visibility; and make better use of capacity are driving the growth of the market through 2022. The Americas regions will continue to lead the global TMS market in volume of implementations, followed by EMEA, and then APAC.”
